Lauren Gorodetsky

Lauren Gorodetsky

Emory University sophomore center back Lauren Gorodetsky played all 180 shutout minutes during a pair of Eagle wins last week, limiting opposing teams to a combined 10 shots (four on goal) and scoring the game-winning goal in each contest.  During a 3-0 win at Birmingham-Southern College, Gorodetsky helped hold the Panthers to just seven total shots and two on goal, while scoring the game-winning goal on a rebound off a corner kick in the 16th minute.  During the Eagles’ 6-0 home-opening victory against Maryville College on Sunday, the 2010 all-American scored the game winner on a header off a corner kick in the seventh minute, while limiting the Scots to just three shots, only two of which were on goal.  Gorodetsky has helped Emory’s defense record five shutouts through six games this season, including four-straight, as the Eagles have lowered their team goals-against average to 0.16 with 463-consecutive scoreless minutes.  Gorodetsky and the fifth-ranked Eagles are undefeated through the first six games of the season with a 5-0-1 record.
