Kaele Leonard

Emory University junior Kaele Leonard set a school record for consecutive scoreless minutes played by a goalkeeper during two games last week.  Leonard set the record during the Eagles’ 6-0 win over Agnes Scott College on Wednesday, shutting out the Scotties for 21 minutes and 26 seconds of the second half to eclipse the previous Emory record for consecutive scoreless minutes by a keeper of 740 minutes and 26 seconds.  During a 1-1 tie against the 20th-ranked University of Chicago, her streak came to a close at 776 minutes and 30 seconds, after allowing a penalty kick goal to the Maroons.  Despite allowing the goal, Leonard matched her season high with three saves in the game.  She is now 2-0-1 this season with a 0.19 goals-against average and 13 saves over 466 minutes and 26 seconds played.  Leonard has helped the fourth-ranked Eagles open the season with an 8-0-2 record, including a 0-0-1 mark in University Athletic Association (UAA) play.
