Junior goalkeeper Kaele Leonard came up with a
stellar effort in aiding the No. 6-ranked Eagles to an important
1-0 triumph over No. 9-ranked Washington University. Leonard
played the final 45 minutes against the Bears and came up with a
season-high five saves as Emory upped its overall record to 9-0-2
(1-0-1 UAA). Leonard stymied several dangerous scoring chances by
the visiting Wash U. squad including one by Jessica Johnson, who
fired a shot from point-blank range just outside the keeper box at
85:14 that preserved Emory's lead. Leonard’s performance
helped the team post its ninth shutout of the year and lowered her
goals-against average mark to 0.18.
