Erica Stein Named UAA Women’s Soccer Athlete of the Week

Emory University junior Erica Stein was named the University Athletic Association's (UAA) Athlete of the Week for Women's Soccer, after helping the Eagles clinch the conference championship with a pair of wins last weekend.

Stein earned the victory in the Eagles' 3-0 win over Brandeis University on Friday, making one save during a scoreless first half.  During a 3-2 overtime win against New York University on Sunday, she allowed a goal on a penalty kick in the first half, just the second goal she has allowed all season.  Stein is now 10-0-1 this season with a 0.25 goals against average and a .800 save percentage, and has been a part of 13 shutouts.

The UAA Athlete of the Week honor was the first of Stein's career.

Stein and the Eagles have clinched the sixth UAA Championship in the program's history, improving to 5-0-1 in conference play and to 14-0-2 overall in 2011.

Emory will aim to complete a perfect regular season on Saturday, as the Eagles will host Carnegie Mellon University at 1:30 PM.
