Lauren Gorodetsky

Lauren Gorodetsky

Emory University junior and two-time all-American defender Lauren Gorodetsky led an Eagles defense that limited opponents to just 12 shots, and four shots on goal, during the season-opening weekend.  During a 2-1 overtime win over top-ranked Messiah College, the sixth-ranked offense in Division III in 2011, Gorodetsky and the Emory backline held the Falcons to one goal on nine shots, only three of which were on goal.  The following day, a 1-0 double-overtime win over Franklin and Marshall College, the center back held the Diplomats to just three shots, only one of which was on goal, during the shutout.  Gorodetsky contributed to the squad’s 0.44 goals against average, playing all 204 minutes and 15 seconds during the weekend.  She helped the Eagles open the season with a 2-0-0 record, as the squad extended its regular-season undefeated streak to 26 games.
