Emory University senior Ashley Kaiser played all 110 minutes in the backfield during the top-ranked Eagles’ 1-1 double-overtime tie against Lee University, the second-ranked team in the NAIA, on Thursday night. Kaiser’s defensive performance helped the Eagles finish the game with advantages of 22-12 in total shots and 9-6 in shots on goal, against a team that featured seven international players and four Division I transfers. It marked just the fourth time in 13 games this season that a defense has held Lee to one goal in a game (the Lady Flames have not been shutout in 2012). Kaiser has started all 14 games for the Emory backline, helping the squad record a 0.53 goals-against average this season. The Eagles are 10-0-4 this season, and have not been defeated in their last 38 regular season games, the longest active streak in Division III.
