#21 Emory Plays to Scoreless Tie at Home with Rochester

The Emory University Women's Soccer Team played to a scoreless tie with the University of Rochester at the Woodruff P.E. Center on Friday night.

The tie moved Emory's record to 9-1-6 on the season, and to 0-1-4 in UAA play.  The Eagles are one draw short of both the program and NCAA Division III record, set during the 2012 season.

Rochester now stands at 5-7-4 after the tie, including a 1-3-1 conference mark.

Emory outshot the Yellowjackets 20-8 in the game, including an 11-4 edge in shots on goal.  Emory senior forwards Charlotte Butker and Emily Feldman each took five shots to lead all players, while Butker registered a game-high four shots on goal.

Emory junior goalkeeper Liz Arnold made four saves in the effort, recording her fifth individual shutout of the season, and the team's ninth overall.  She lowered her goals against average to 0.52 for the year, while raising her save percentage to .846.

The Emory tie, coupled with a Carnegie Mellon win, officially eliminated the Eagles from the running for the UAA Championship.  Emory is currently tied for sixth in the conference with both Rochester and Case Western Reserve.

Emory will conclude its regular season home schedule on Sunday, November 2nd at 1:30 PM against Case Western Reserve University.  Prior to the contest, the Eagles will honor the eight graduating members of the team – forward Charlotte Butker, midfielder Meredith Doherty, forward Emily Feldman, midfielder Jennifer Grant, midfielder Sarah Kuehl, defender Kaelyn Lucas, forward Karina Rodriguez, and midfielder Claudia Rowe – with a special 'Senior Day' ceremony.
