Women's Soccer Plays #8/9 Brandeis to a 0-0 Tie

The Emory University women's soccer team played to a scoreless tie on Friday night against #8/9 Brandeis University. It was the fourth straight game the Eagles went to double overtime and the third time that Emory came away with a tie.

The Eagles and Judges combined for 19 shots in the game with just seven being on goal as both teams were very strong defensively. Emory led 10-9 in shots and had a 4-3 margin in SOGs. Ally Peterson, Anna Gurney, Grace Edgarton and Danielle Darius all recorded one shot on target for the Eagles.

For the second straight contest, the Blue and Gold got off to good start as the team outshot Brandeis 6-2 in the opening 45 minutes. The Judges had a slight edge in the second half, 4-3, and in overtime, 3-1. Liz Arnold made three saves in the game to record her fifth clean sheet of the season. Alexis Grossman made four stops for Brandeis.

Emory closes out the weekend with a meeting with NYU at home on Sunday morning at 11:00 AM. The Eagles will then wrap up the regular season on Saturday, November 7th against Rochester. Before the game, seniors Arnold, Peterson, Jordan Morell and Kristin Temple will be honored with an on-field ceremony.
