Women's Soccer Hosts Brevard College Tuesday Evening in Final Non-UAA Contest

The Emory University Women's Soccer team returns to action after a nine-day layoff to host Division II Brevard College on Tuesday night in the final regular season home game at the Woodruff PE Center. The game is set to get underway at 6:00 pm.

Emory University Eagles

The Eagles are back in action after a 1-1 showing against Case Western Reserve and Carnegie Mellon on October 14th and 16th to move to 8-5 overall and 2-2 in the University Athletic Association. Following the 1-1 performance, Emory debuted at ninth in the first NCAA regional rankings with four games remaining, three against UAA opponents. Senior Cristina Ramirez was named the UAA Offensive Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career after notching a season-best five points (2G, 1A) against the Spartans on Friday. With the five point effort, Ramirez has recorded at least 10 points for the fourth time in her career. Freshman Shivani Beall also registered five points (2G, 1A) during the two contests to give her a team-high 11 points (3G, 5A) on the season. Her five assists rank tied for third among all UAA players and first among freshmen. Freshman Caroline Kolski added a goal for the Eagles against Case Western Reserve, moving her into a tie for the team-lead with Ramirez with four goals. Sophomore Dani Staffin made nine saves for the Eagles against the two UAA foes including a career-best eight stops against the Tartans. She lowered her goals-against average to 0.90 to go along with a 7-3 record and a .710 save percentage.

Head Coach Sue Patberg can become the 56th member of the 300-win club in NCAA Women's Soccer history with a win on Tuesday night, coming into play with an overall record of 299-129-54 including a 153-42-36 mark with the Eagles. She is joined on the sidelines by Associate Coach Rachel Moreland and Goalkeeper Coach Mike Wentzler.

Brevard College Tornados

The Tornados enter Tuesday's matchup struggling as of late, going 0-11-1 in their last 12 contests while being outscored 24-2 after opening the season 3-0. Four different players have registered two goals each for the Tornados, accounting for eight of the team's 11 goals in 15 games played. Sophomore Ashley Hughes leads Brevard with six points on the year, netting two goals and dishing out a team-best two assists. Freshman Ashley Mevoli ranks second on the team with two goals and one assist for five points. Also adding two goals apiece for the Tornados are sophomore Caroline David and senior Anita Maryskova. Brevard has seen two goalkeepers split time between the posts this season in sophomore Elise Youmans and freshman Laurel Neuzil. Youmanshas posted a record of 3-3 in seven games played, six starts, notching 31 saves and a 1.05 GAA for the Tornados. Neuzil has started nine contests, going 0-8-1 with 68 saves and a 1.96 GAA.

Brevard is under the leadership of Head Coach Juan Mascaro who is in his first full season as head coach of the program. Mascaro also serves as Brevard's Athletic Director.

Tuesday will mark the first ever meeting between the two programs.
