Sophomore Nikki Batt of the Emory University Women's Soccer team has been named the University Athletic Association Women's Soccer Defender of the Week as announced by the Association on Monday afternoon. This is the first career Athlete of the Week honor for Batt and the first AOW award for the Eagles this season.

Batt helped the Emory backline limit #4 University of Chicago to just nine shots total, two on goal, in the Eagles' 2-0 victory over the Maroons on Saturday. Both shot totals represented season-lows for Chicago this season. The sophomore also added an assist on Emory's game-winning goal as she found a sliding Cristina Ramirez inside the six with a great ball through traffic. The helper was Batt's third of the season.

The Eagles return to the pitch on Tuesday night as they host Sewanee University in a non-conference matchup. Action from the Woodruff PE Center begins at 6:00 pm.
