After the first week of games, the UAA features a four-way tie for first place between Chicago, Washington University, Brandeis and Carnegie Mellon with all four teams sitting at 1-0 in conference play. The Eagles slipped to No.-24 in the United Soccer Coaches Association top-25 poll this week and climbed to No.-19 in D3Soccer.com national rankings this week and are coming off a 2-0 victory at home over Huntingdon on Tuesday night, giving Emory its fourth win over its last five matches. The Eagles defense held the Hawks to just two total shots in the contest, marking the sixth time Emory has limited an opposing team to three or fewer shot attempts in a game this season. The Eagles lowered their goals-against average to 0.50 which ranks 27th in Division III. Offensively, Emory carries the 59th-ranked scoring offense in the country into Saturday's matchup, scoring at a 2.91 goals per game clip and recorded at least two goals for the seventh time on Tuesday night. Junior Nikki Batt and freshman Samantha Hilsee provided the scoring for the Eagles with Hilsee moving into a tie for the team-lead in goals with four with sophomore Caroline Kolski and freshman Anne Otterbein. Junior Abbe McCarter currently sits tied for second in the UAA and 17th nationally with a career-high seven assists.

The Maroons own an unblemished 11-0-0 record when play gets underway Saturday afternoon and are positioned in the top spot in both the United Soccer Coaches and D3Soccer.com national rankings. Chicago has scored at least two goals in every game so far this season and ranks 10th in the country with a 4.00 goals per game average. Six Maroons have recorded double-digit point totals, led by 2016 UAA MVP and First Team All-American Jenna McKinney. The junior midfielder ranks tied for second in the conference in goals (8) and points (20). Chicago also features another First Team All-American in the midfield in senior Mia Calamari, who tops the UAA with eight assists. Sophomore Katie Donovan and freshman Miranda Malone have split goalkeeping duties for the Maroons in 2017, as the duo has allowed just three goals in just over 937 minutes of action, turning away 12 shots and combining for six shutouts. Chicago is led on the sidelines by long-time head coach Amy Reifert, who is in her 27th season with the team. Reifert has compiled a 342-128-47 record with the program and has led the Maroons to three trips to the NCAA Final Four, most recently in 2016.

Emory leads the all-time series 17-11-3 and has won three of the last five meetings with the Maroons. Last season, Kolski and Cristina Ramirez led the Eagles to a 2-0 upset win over unbeaten and then-ranked No.-4 Chicago in Atlanta.
