Lily Dresner Named to All-America Third Team; Hilsee, Hall, McBerry Tabbed All-Region

The United Soccer Coaches announced its All-America and All-Region teams this week with four Emory University women's soccer players being among those honored.

Senior Lily Dresner headlined the Eagles selected as she became the first Emory women's soccer All-American since 2013, earning Third Team acclaim.

Dresner along with classmate Samantha Hilsee, junior Kylie Hall and sophomore Olivia McBerry were tabbed to the Region VI All-Region squads. Dresner was a First Team All-Region pick with Hilsee and Hall garnering Second Team honors and McBerry rounding out the selections with a Third Team berth. The four All-Region selections were the most by an Emory team since the 2011 season.

Dresner becomes the 12th All-American in Emory women's soccer history and the first since Lauren Gorodetsky's four-year run from 2010-2013. The senior defender led all Eagles during the 2021 season in minutes played and was one of three to start all 20 games. Dresner highlighted a defensive backline that posted 12 shutouts while holding opponents to a total of 11 goals and 3.85 shots on goal per game. She added two assists on the offensive end as well with both coming in wins over Berry in the season opener and Wittenberg in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Earlier this fall, Dresner was named to the All-UAA Second Team marking her third career All-UAA selection.

Hilsee makes her third consecutive appearance on the All-Region Team and second straight berth on the region's Second Team. She started every games as a senior, finishing with six goals and two assists for her third season with double-digit points and had a team-leading three game-winning goals. Her All-Region honor is her third postseason accolade as she was previously tabbed to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team and was an All-UAA Honorable Mention.

Hall earns her first career All-Region selection after a season where she finished tied for second in the UAA with eight assists to go along with five goals. Hall notched at least one goal or one assist in nine of the team's 20 contests and finished second on the team with 18 points, a career-best total. Previously, she was tabbed as an All-UAA Honorable Mention.

McBerry is another first time All-Region honoree following a superb debut season with the Eagles. McBerry finished with a team-leading eight goals and 19 points, recording at least one goal or one assist in eight games with the team going 6-2 in those contests. She had a season-high five points in the win over Maryville on September 22 and notched a goal in each of the team's NCAA tournament games. The All-Region award comes on the heels of her All-UAA Second Team honor last month.

The Eagles advanced to the NCAA Round of 32 for the second time in the last three years and had an overall record of 12-5-3, the team's fourth straight season with 10 or more wins.
