Polisini & Tutor Receive UAA Swimmer of the Week Honors

Emory University senior Jack Polisni and junior Lexi Tutor were selected as the University Athletic Association's (UAA) Swimmers of the Week, following their standout performances at the Midwest Invitational, hosted by the University of Chicago last Friday and Saturday.

Polisini recorded two NCAA 'B' cut times and two first-place finishes at the Midwest Invitational, including a win the 400-yard individual medley with a 'B' cut time of 4:07.08.  He also registered a provisional time in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing second with a mark of 2:06.24.  On the first day of competition, Polisini captured an event win in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:54.18.  His efforts helped the nationally third-ranked Emory men to a team win at the meet, as the squad totaled 459.5 points.

Tutor claimed the win in the 200-yard breaststroke, registering an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 2:22.74.  She also added a time of 1:07.78 in the time trials of the 100-yard breaststroke.  Tutor's effort helped the nationally top-ranked Emory women win the Midwest Invitational with 356 points.

This was the first career conference Athlete of the Week honor for both Polisini and Tutor.

The Eagles will now await the announcement of the NCAA Championship field, set to be released on Wednesday morning on ncaa.com.
