Emory University junior Andrew Wilson and senior Hayden Baker each qualified for the finals of their respective events during the first day of competition at the Arena Pro Swim Series at Austin on Thursday.

Wilson went on to finish 14^th in the finals of the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:20.90, after swimming a time of 2:18.81 and finishing 10^th in the preliminaries of the event.  Baker claimed 24^th-place in the 100-meter butterfly with a mark of 56.39 seconds, after finishing 22^nd in the preliminaries with a mark of 55.64 seconds.

Three other Emory men competed in the preliminaries of events on Thursday.  In the 400-meter freestyle, sophomores Christian Baker (4:04.19) and Mitchell Cooper (4:08.29) finished 36^th and 55^th, respectively, while senior Eric Ruggieri swam a mark of 2:30.27 in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing 48^th overall.

For the women, junior Elizabeth Aronoff finished 45^th in the preliminaries 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:43.24, while senior McKenna Newsum-Schoenberg recorded a mark of 4:30.79 to finish 57^th in the 400-meter freestyle.  In the 100-meter freestyle, senior Nancy Larson finishing in 70^th with a time of 59.68 seconds, followed by sophomore Claire Liu in 76^th place with a time of 59.84 seconds.
