Sophomore (2006):

Tien earned All-America honors for the second year in a row for her play during the ITA Championships in the fall and during NCAA play, while also being named first team All-UAA at No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles. She teamed with Samantha Shapiro to win the ITA South Region doubles tournament.  Tien led the team in singles victories for the season, finishing with a record of 21-7. Her 21 victories ups her career record to 41-12 and a winning percentage of .774, which stands eighth in the program's history. She was 8-4 at No. 1 singles and 10-2 at No. 2, while finishing 3-1 in the ITA.  Tien was also a perfect 3-0 during the team's UAA Championship run.  In doubles play she tied Shapiro for the most wins with 21.  She was 12-4 with Shapiro, while also going 6-2 with Jenny Moscato and 3-2 with Richelle Marasigan during the NCAA tournament.

Freshman (2005):

Tien became the fifth Emory freshman ever to earn All-America honors. She did so as a doubles player by pairing with Jamie Chan to win the doubles title at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association regional championships last fall. The duo placed sixth at the ITA national championships. That capped a fall in which Tien had a 7-3 doubles record. As a singles player, she had a 20-5 record, primarily at No. 5 singles. Tien had nine singles wins against opponents from schools ranked in the top 20 nationally. She was voted to the all-conference first team at No. 5 singles.
