Emory University freshman Gabrielle Clark went 2-0 in singles matches against ranked NCAA Division III opponents, including a win over the reigning NCAA singles champion.  On Sunday, Clark helped the Eagles to a 7-2 win over eighth-ranked Tufts University with a 6-3, 6-2 victory in the first singles match over Julia Browne, last year’s NCAA D-III singles tournament winner and the third-ranked singles player in the Northeast Region.  Earlier in the match, she suffered an 8-4 loss with Lorne McManigle in the first doubles match to the third-ranked doubles team in the Northeast Region.  On Friday, Clark won both of her matches, defeating the Northeast Region’s eighth-ranked singles player 6-2, 6-4, and winning 8-5 with McManigle in the first doubles match over the regionally second-ranked pairing.  She has won 10-straight singles matches, improving to 18-4 overall this year in singles play, and to 15-7 in doubles matches.  Clark has helped the third-ranked Eagles win 13-straight matches, with a 13-2 overall record.
