Emory University freshman Gabrielle Clark was a perfect 2-0 in both singles and doubles matches for the top-ranked Eagles last week. During a 6-0 win over 11th-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College, Clark teamed with Lorne McManigle to win the first doubles match 8-2 over the Central Region’s fourth-ranked pairing, and claimed a 7-5, 6-3 win in the first singles match over the fifth-ranked player in the Central Region. She was also perfect against fourth-ranked Williams College, winning 9-8 (3) over the Northeast Region’s fourth-ranked doubles team, and coming from behind to defeat the second-ranked singles player in the region 5-7, 6-4, 6-4, in a 5-4 Emory loss. Clark has won 12-straight singles matches to improve to 20-4 on the season, and is 17-7 in doubles play. Her contributions have led the Eagles to a 14-3 record in 2011.
