Emory University freshman Gabrielle Clark and senior Lorne McManigle finished second at the 2011 NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Doubles Championships. Emory’s third-seeded duo went 3-1 in tournament play, winning their quarterfinal and semifinal matches in straight sets, before succumbing to the fourth-seeded pair from Amherst College in the Championship Match. Clark and McManigle were also 3-0 in doubles action during the team championships, including victories over the NCAA Doubles Champions from each of the last three seasons, to help Emory to a third-place finish. The two finished the year with a 19-5 record together in doubles matches. In addition, Clark went 5-1 in singles matches during the championship week, advancing to the quarterfinals of the NCAA draw.
