Emory University’s Zahra Dawson went 2-0 in both singles and doubles play last week, leading the top-ranked Eagles to a split of two matches last week.  During a 9-0 team win over Berry College, Dawson teamed with Taylor Brandt to shutout her counterparts in the third doubles match, 8-0, while winning the second singles match in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.  Against the ninth-ranked NCAA Division II team, Clayton State University, Dawson and Brandt claimed an 8-2 win in third doubles, followed by a 6-0, 6-2 win in third singles from the junior.  Dawson improved to 22-8 in singles play to lead all Eagles in victories this season, and has won 11-straight (and 16 of her last 17) doubles matches to improve to 24-4 overall in doubles play.  Her performance has helped the Eagles to a 15-4 overall record in 2011.
