Emory University senior Lorne McManigle won both the first singles match and the first doubles match during the third-ranked Eagles’ 9-0 win over the 19th-ranked University of the South (Sewanee) on Tuesday. McManigle earned a straight-set, 6-4, 6-3 win over the Atlantic South Region’s 15th-ranked player in the first singles match. She also teamed with Gabrielle Clark to upset the region’s second-ranked doubles pairing, 8-1, in the first doubles contest. McManigle, ranked 11th in the Atlantic South Region in singles play and fifth in doubles, raised her record to 16-9 in singles matches and to 22-7 in doubles action. The 2009 NCAA Division III singles champion and 2010 doubles runner-up has led the Eagles to a 16-4 overall record this season.
