Emory University sophomore Jordan Wylie recorded a perfect week of tennis for the third-ranked Eagles, going 4-0 in second singles matches and 5-0 in second doubles contests, during a 5-0 week for Emory with wins over three nationally-ranked NCAA Division III teams and two NCAA Division I squads. Wylie started off her week with a 8-2 win in doubles over the pairing from fifth-ranked Denison, and a 6-3, 6-3 win in singles over the Central Region’s seventh-ranked player, leading Emory to a 8-1 win. The sophomore claimed an 8-4 doubles win on Thursday during Emory’s 7-2 team victory over Division I Murray State University. On Saturday, Wylie was a deciding factor in the Eagles’ 4-3 win over Division I Wofford College, winning 8-5 in doubles action and coming from behind for a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 win in her singles match. During the Eagles’ 8-1 win over ninth-ranked Washington & Lee University on Sunday, Wylie earned an 8-5 win in doubles over the South Region’s 10th-ranked pairing, and claimed a 6-1, 6-3 win over the region’s 19th-ranked player in singles action. Rounding out her stellar week against 14th-ranked DePauw University on Sunday, she won her doubles match 8-1 and her singles match 6-3, 6-3 over the Central Region’s eighth-ranked player. Wylie, regionally-ranked third in both singles and doubles, improved to 15-5 this season in singles matches and to 10-4 in doubles play. Her performance has helped the Eagles to 11-consecutive wins and an overall record of 11-2.
