Emory University's third-seeded doubles team of freshman Gabrielle Clark and senior Lorne McManigle advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Division III Doubles Championships, following their straight-set win on Saturday in Claremont, CA.
In Saturday's quarterfinals, Clark and McManigle defeated Middlebury College's duo of Brittany Faber and Leah Kepping, 6-2, 7-6, to advance in the tournament.
Next up for the Emory pairing will be Laura Chen and Courtney Chin of Carnegie Mellon University, who defeated the top-seed and two-time reigning NCAA Doubles Champion pair of Kendra Higgins and Chrissy Hu from Chicago on Saturday to advance to the semifinals.
The doubles semifinals are scheduled for 4:00 PM ET on Sunday. Should the Eagles win, the doubles championship match will be at 7:00 PM ET on Sunday.
In the singles bracket, Clark, the top-seed, fell 6-4, 6-2 to Kristin Alotta of Williams in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
