Gabrielle Clark

Emory University junior Gabrielle Clark recorded a perfect record in both singles and doubles play during the Eagles’ two matches against Division II schools in Hawaii last week.  During the Eagles’ 9-0 win over the University of Hawaii – Hilo on Thursday, Clark won the first singles match over Hilo’s Emelie Laussen in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.  The following day, during a rain-shortened match against Hawaii Pacific University, she teamed with Annette Sullivan to win the first doubles match 8-4, and claimed a 6-4, 6-2 win over Celina Goetti in the first singles contest.  Clark, the reigning NCAA singles champion and doubles runner-up, now stands at 15-5 in singles play this season and 13-4 in doubles action.  Her play during the week helped the fourth-ranked Eagles improve to 5-2 overall this season.
