Emory University junior Gabrielle Clark was a perfect 4-0 in first singles matches and 3-1 in first doubles action with freshman partner Annette Sullivan, helping the fourth-ranked Eagles to wins over three nationally-ranked teams last week, including an upset win over Division III’s top-ranked squad.  During Emory’s 9-0 win over 16^th-ranked Tufts University on Tuesday, Clark earned an 8-5 doubles triumph over the seventh-ranked pairing in the Northeast Region, and claimed a 6-3, 6-3 win over the 21^st-ranked player in the region in singles.  On Friday against second-ranked Amherst, she bounced back from an 8-4 doubles loss to defeat the second-ranked player in the Northeast in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5, as Emory was edged 5-4 in the match.  On Saturday, in a 5-0 win over 12^th-ranked Washington University (Mo.), Clark won both her doubles (8-4) and singles (6-0, 6-3) matches.  She capped off the week by leading Emory to a 6-3 upset win over top-ranked Johns Hopkins University, claiming an 8-6 doubles win and a dominating 6-0, 6-1 singles victory.  With the four singles victories, Clark moved into 10^th-place in school history with 73 career wins, and now stands at 19-5 this season.  In addition, she is 16-5 for the campaign in doubles matches.  Clark and the Eagles improved to 8-3 overall this season with the three victories.
