Gabrielle Clark

Emory University junior Gabrielle Clark won the singles draw at the 2012 USTA/ITA Fall South Regional, and later teamed with freshman Emma Taylor to win the doubles draw as well.  Clark, the reigning NCAA Singles Champion, won all five of her singles matches during the weekend (improving to 7-1 overall this season), including a 6-3, 6-2 win over teammate and second seed Jordan Wylie in the championship match.  In doubles play, Clark and Taylor (seeded second in the draw) went 4-0, including a 6-4, 6-2 win over fourth-seeded Anne Garland and Lindsey Liles from Sewanee in the championship match.  The duo improved to 6-1 together in doubles play this season.  Clark became just the second player in the program’s history, along with former Eagle Lorne McManigle, to win both the ITA Regional Singles and Doubles Draw in back-to-back years.  Clark and Taylor will advance to the ITA Small College Nationals in Mobile, AL, starting on October 11th.
