Emory University associate women’s tennis coach Meredith Vincent has resigned her position to take over the head coaching duties at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC.

Vincent joined the Eagles’ program in the fall of 2006 as an assistant and was named associate coach in July of 2011.   She was an integral part of the program’s success during her seven-year stint , helping the team to five University Athletic Association Championships and seven trips to the NCAA D-III Championships where Emory posted runner-up finishes in 2010 and 2013, third-place efforts in 2009, 2011 and 2012 and a quarterfinal effort in 2008.

"My seven years at Emory have been a wonderful experience, and I couldn't have asked for a better environment in which to work with student-athletes,” Vincent said.  “Besides having top of the line facilities, my colleagues have been exceptional. Their professionalism and friendliness will never be forgotten.  Amy Bryant has been an outstanding mentor to me on and off the court.  Emory will always have a special place in my heart."

Vincent was recognized as the Atlantic South Region's Assistant Coach of the Year in both 2009 and 2010, and was tabbed as part of the UAA Coaching Staff of the Year on four occasions.  During her seven years at Emory, the Eagles compiled an overall record of 134-46, good for a .744 winning percentage.  She has helped coach Emory's players to two National Champions, 24 all-America honors and three UAA MVP awards.

 “Meredith directly shaped the success of the Emory women's tennis team over the past seven seasons,” said Emory head coach Amy Bryant.  “Her knowledge of the game and identification of talent resulted in landing recruits nationally ranked in the top 100 junior polls. Additionally, she positively contributed  to the overall team dynamic with her strong work ethic and genuine nature.

“Meredith has not only been a colleague for the last seven years but also a good friend,” Bryant continued. “There is no doubt that she will be an outstanding head coach at Meredith College.  I look forward to following her success and staying in touch with her. She will always be a member of the Emory tennis family.”
