The third-ranked Emory University Women's Tennis team wrapped up its challenging Florida road trip with a win over a ranked NCAA Division II opponent, as the Eagles defeated 15th-ranked Nova Southeastern University 6-3 in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday afternoon.
The win snapped a two-match losing streak for the Eagles, both of which came against top-six ranked Division II opponents this week. Emory improved to 13-2 overall, while Nova Southeastern fell to 11-4.
Emory received a pair of victories in the doubles matches, with senior Gabrielle Clark and freshman Katarina Su claiming an 8-3 win at first doubles, and sophomores Beatrice Rosen and Madison Gordon claiming an 8-5 win at second doubles.
The Eagles went on to win four of the six singles matches, with victories at first singles from Clark (6-1, 6-0), at second singles from Rosen (6-3, 6-2), at third singles from freshman Michelle Satterfield (6-3, 6-1) and at fifth singles from Su (6-2, 6-0).
Emory will return home to host 10th-ranked DePauw University on Friday, March 28th at 4:30 PM.
