The top-ranked Emory University Eagles will take on ninth-ranked Washington University (Mo.) in the quarterfinals of the 2014 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships on Monday, May 19th at 3:00 PM PT.  The event, hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges in Claremont, California, will be held at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center.

Emory will enter Monday's match with an overall record of 25-2, marking the highest win total in the program's history.  The team is undefeated against Division III opposition this season with a 17-0 record, including a 10-0 mark against national-ranked Division III squads, and a 5-0 record against top-10 opponents.  Emory advanced to the quarterfinals with 5-0 wins over Berry College and 19th-ranked Washington and Lee University.

The Eagles' lineup features the top-ranked singles player in the Atlantic South Region in senior Gabrielle Clark, along with ninth-ranked sophomore Beatrice Rosen and 11th-ranked freshman Michelle Satterfield.  Emory also has a pair of regionally-ranked doubles teams in the second-ranked duo of Satterfield and Clark, and the 10th-ranked combination of Rosen and junior Rebecca Siegler.

Washington University will enter the match with a 19-5 overall record, reaching the quarterfinals with a 5-0 win over Grinnell College and a 5-2 victory over 11th-ranked DePauw University.  The Bears have a pair of players ranked in the Central Region – sixth-ranked Jamie Silverberg and 12th-ranked Rebecca Ho – and the region's top-ranked doubles pairing in Ho and Corinne Rauck.

Although the Eagles and the Bears missed each other at the 2014 University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships, the two conference rivals have played 18 times previously, with the Eagles winning all of the 18 matches.  The squads last met during the 2013 campaign, with Emory coming away with a 5-0 win.

The winning team will advance to the NCAA Semifinals on Tuesday, May 20th at 3:00 PM PT, to face the winner of the match between fourth-ranked Johns Hopkins University and fifth-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
