Clark Reaches NCAA Singles Finals; Advances to Semifinals of Doubles with Satterfield

Emory University senior Gabrielle Clark won two more singles matches on Friday afternoon to reach the finals of the NCAA Division III Singles Championships in Claremont, California, and earned a doubles victory with freshman Michelle Satterfield to reach the semifinals of the doubles draw.

Clark, the top-seeded defeated Elysa Kohrs of MIT in the quarterfinals, 6-1, 6-2, on Friday, and followed with a 6-2, 7-5 over fourth-seeded Kara Shoemaker of Williams College.

Clark will take on third-seeded Jordan Brewer of Amherst College in the Championship match on Saturday at 1:00 PM ET.  Clark, who will be looking for the second NCAA Division III Singles Title of her career after winning the draw in 2012, defeated Brewer in singles play during the team championships earlier in the week.

Clark later teamed with Satterfield to defeat Madeline Benn and Lee Ford of Skidmore College in the quarterfinals in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.  The fourth seeded pair will move onto the semifinals of the NCAA Doubles draw at 2:30 PM ET on Saturday, followed by the finals, scheduled for 5:00 PM ET.
