Emory Women’s Tennis Names Krtickova as Graduate Assistant Coach

Emory University Women's Tennis Head Coach Amy Bryant has announced the addition of former NCAA Division II standout player Barbora Krtickova as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the program during the 2014-15 season.

Krtickova comes to Emory after an exemplary collegiate career at Armstrong Atlantic State University, an NCAA Division II program in Savannah, Georgia.  She helped lead the team to the NCAA Division II National Championship in both 2012 and 2013, while claiming the singles title at the ITA Fall Small College National 'Super Bowl' in 2012, and the doubles title at the event in both 2010 and 2012.  Krtickova has also played professionally, reaching WTA rankings of 539th for doubles and 652nd for singles, while also winning doubles ITF 10K Tournaments in Budapest, Hungary and Thessalonkiki, Greece.

In addition to her playing career, Krtickova has coaching experience both in Greenwich, Connecticut and her native Czech Republic.  She holds a Tennis Coaching Certificate from the Czech National Tennis Association.

Krtickova graduated from Armstrong Atlantic in May of 2014, earning bothh CoSIDA Academic All-District and D3ADA Academic Achievement Awards.  In addition to her work at Emory, she will be continuing her education at Georgia State University, pursuing a Masters' Degree in Sports Administration.

Krtickova will be joining an Emory program coming off a National Championship campaign, after the Eagles' won the program's sixth NCAA Division III Championship in 2014.  The Eagles set a program record with 28 wins, while individually, senior Gabrielle Clark claimed the NCAA D-III Singles Championship.

The Eagles are slated to return all but two players from their 2014 National Championship roster for the 2014-15 season.
