Eagles Set for All-Emory Singles Semis at USTA/ITA South Regional Championships

Four members of the Emory University Women's Tennis Team each won twice on Saturday to advance to the semifinals of the singles draw at USTA/ITA South Regional Championships.

On the top half of the draw, freshman Julie Fowler, the sixth-seeded player, will take on sophomore Katarina Su, the fifth seed.  Fowler advanced to the semifinals after defeating top-seeded Bronte Goodhue of Sewanee in straight sets in the quarterfinals.

On the other side of the draw, junior Beatrice Rosen, the fourth seed, will take on eight-seeded freshman Bridget Harding.

The singles semifinals are slated for a 9:00 AM start at the Woodruff Physical Education Center on Sunday morning.  They will be followed by the finals at 12:00 PM.

Doubles action at the tournament was still ongoing at the time of the release of this article, with three Emory pairings already reaching the semifinals – top-seeded Michelle Satterfield and Harding, Michelle DeMeo and Rosen, and Su and freshman Anna Fuhr.  The doubles semifinals will be held later in the day on Saturday, with the championship match slated for a 3:00 PM start on Sunday.
