Eagles Continue Play at USTA/ ITA Nationals

Emory University junior Beatrice Rosen, sophomore Katarina Su and freshman Anna Fuhr were all in action on Friday at the USTA/ ITA Small College Nationals in Sumter, South Carolina.

Rosen, seeded fourth, fell in the semifinals of the singles draw to Ashnaa Rao of Johns Hopkins University, 6-4, 6-2.  She will wrap-up play at the tournament in the third-place match against unseeded Kate Christensen of Vassar at 8:30 AM on Saturday.

Su and Fuhr wrapped up play in the doubles draw on Friday.  The duo advanced to the fifth-place match on Thursday evening with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Bridgid McGuire and Alicia Beck of the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, but finished in sixth place in the tournament after falling to Marie Lutz and Liza Southwick of Trinity University (Texas) in three sets, 2-6, 6-3, 11-9, on Friday.
