The Emory University Women's Tennis Team, ranked first in Division III, will take on three other nationally-ranked opponents at the Fab 5 Tournament, hosted by Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia.
The Eagles are scheduled to play host and 10th-ranked Washington and Lee at 4:00 pm on Friday, March 27th, followed by a 2:00 pm match against third-ranked Williams College on Saturday, March 28th. The Eagles will wrap-up the weekend on Sunday, March 29th at 9:00 am against 14th-ranked DePauw University.
Emory will enter the weekend with a 9-2 overall record, including a perfect 6-0 mark against Division III opponents. The Eagles have won their last 19 matches against NCAA Division III squads. Emory moved back to the top spot in the latest ITA Division III National Rankings, released on Thursday night. The team features the Atlantic South Region's second-, seventh-, and 15th-ranked players in junior Beatrice Rosen, and sophomore Michelle Satterfield and Katarina Su, respectively. In addition the Eagles' doubles pairing of Su and freshman Anna Fuhr was ranked fourth in the region in the latest poll.
Washington and Lee stands at 11-3 on the season, following a 5-0 win over DePauw on Thursday. The Generals are ranked 10th in Division III and fourth in the Atlantic South Region.
Williams, ranked third in Division III and first in the Northeast Region, improved to 5-0 on the season after a 5-2 victory against Division I James Madison on Wednesday. The Ephs will face DePauw on Friday before taking on the Eagles on Saturday.
DePauw is currently 6-5 for the campaign, and is scheduled to play Mary Washington on Saturday, in addition to their match against Williams.
