The Emory University Women's Tennis Team, ranked first in Division III, will host the 12th-ranked University of the South at the Woodruff Physical Education Center on Thursday, April 2nd at 3:00 pm. Prior to the match, the Eagles will celebrate the three graduating members of the team – seniors Catharine Harris, Rebecca Siegler and Danielle Truitt – with a special 'Senior Day' ceremony prior to the start of the match.
Emory will enter the match with an overall record of 11-3, following the team's 2-1 performance at last week's Fab 5 Tournament. The Eagles are a perfect 4-0 in home matches this season, and are 8-1 against Division III opposition. Emory has also won six of its last seven matches.
The Eagles lineup features the second-ranked singles player in the Atlantic South Region in junior Beatrice Rosen, in addition to seventh-ranked sophomore Michelle Satterfield and 15th-ranked sophomore Katarina Su.
Sewanee is 12-3 overall this season, including a 4-0 road record during the campaign. The Tigers, who have won seven-straight matches, feature regionally-ranked singles players in Bronte Goodhue (fourth), Lindsey Liles (fifth), Christina Merchant (25th) and the top-ranked doubles pairing in the duo of Goodhue and Liles.
Emory has won the last nine meetings between the two teams to improve to 37-12 all-time against the Tigers. Included in the Eagles' overall record against Sewanee is a 19-5 mark in home matches.
