#2 Women’s Tennis to Conclude Home Schedule with ‘Youth Day’ against #6 Johns Hopkins

The second-ranked Emory University Women's Tennis Team will wrap-up its 2015 regular season home schedule this Saturday, April 18th at 10:00 am, when the team plays host to Johns Hopkins University, ranked sixth in Division III.

Saturday will also be 'Youth Day' at the Woodruff P.E. Center, with free food, activities and prizes for children, including a drawing for a free week of half day Total Tennis Camp.

A second match during the week, originally scheduled for Thursday against Division II Columbus State, was cancelled on Tuesday.

The Eagles will be playing in their first match since defeating the 12th-ranked University of the South 8-1 on April 2nd at the WoodPEC.  Emory stands at 12-3 overall for the year, including a perfect 5-0 record at home, and has won 21-straight home matches. 

Emory junior Beatrice Rosen, 15-8 on the season, recently moved into the top spot in the Atlantic South Region singles rankings, while sophomores Michelle Satterfield (9-6) and Katarina Su (17-7) were ranked seventh and 15th, respectively.  In doubles action, the Eagles' pairings of freshman Anna Fuhr and Satterfield (1-3) and sophomore Melissa Goodman and Rosen (14-4) were ranked sixth and seventh in the Atlantic South, respectively.

Johns Hopkins in 9-3 on the season, including a 3-1 road record, and will face McDaniel College on Wednesday before making the trip to Atlanta on Saturday.  The Blue Jays, ranked third as a team in the Atlantic South Region, feature three regionally-ranked singles players – #4 Ashnaa Rao, #8 Sydney Lehman and #19 Amanda Austi – and two regionally-ranked doubles pairings - #4 Rao and Shannon Herndon, and #9 Lehman and Elaine Baik.

Emory is 4-0 all-time against Johns Hopkins, including a pair of victories last season – 7-2 in Atlanta during the regular season, and 5-1 in the semifinals of the NCAA Championships.  The Eagles are 3-0 all-time at home against the Blue Jays.
