Emory Women’s Tennis Announces Incoming Freshman Class

Emory University Women's Tennis Head Coach Amy Bryant announced the incoming freshman class, who are slated to begin play for the Eagles in the fall of 2015.  Included in the class are Taylor Cosme of New Hyde Park, New York, Daniela Lopez of Coral Gables, Florida and Daniella Moreno-Kaste of Lakeland, Florida.

Cosme, who will be graduating from Herricks High School, is ranked 108th nationally, 15th in the Middle Atlantic and seventh in New York, according to the Babolat recruiting list.  She is 32-29 overall, including 26-5 mark against four-star and lower rated players.  Cosme won the Nassau County girls individual tennis championship in October of 2014.

Lopez, who plays for Ransom Everglades High School, is ranked 161st nationally, 53rd in the Southeast and 28th in Florida.  She is 18-10 against four-star or lower rated players, and is 18-23 overall.

Moreno-Kaste will be graduating from the Academy at the Lakes.  She is a former five-star tennis recruit and a top-15 endorsed player in the State of Florida.  She recently won the State Doubles Tournament in Orlando, while also competing in the 25k Innisbrook USTA Pro Event and the ITF Pro 50k.

The Eagles, ranked second in Division III and 16-3 for the season, recently claimed their 26th University Athletic Association Championship in 28 years, earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championships.  The field for the 2015 NCAA Championships, along with the host sites for the first three rounds, will be announced on NCAA.com at noon on Monday, May 4th.
