Rosen Named to Capital One Academic All-District Team

Emory University junior women's tennis player Beatrice Rosen was named to the Capital One Academic All-District At-Large Team, based on a combination of her athletic and academic achievements during her career as an Eagle.

By virtue of being named to the Capital One Academic All-District team, Rosen will be placed on the ballot for the Academic all-America Team.  The first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on Tuesday, June 9th.

Rosen is currently the second-ranked singles player and the eighth-ranked doubles player in the Atlantic South Region.  She claimed All-America honors for the second time in her career earlier in the season, after winning the singles draw at the 2014 ITA South Regional Championships, finishing third in the draw at the ITA Small College National Championships.  She is 18-9 in singles matches this season and holds a career-best 20-6 doubles record.  For her career, Rosen is 60-26 in singles matches and 40-25 in doubles action.

Rosen has a 3.84 grade point average as a journalism and psychology dual major.  She is a two-time Academic All-UAA honoree.

Voting for the Academic All-District team is conducted by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).  Emory is part of District 5, which includes Division III schools in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.  Sports represented on the 'At-Large' team include women's bowling, women's crew, men's and women's fencing, women's field hockey, men's and women's golf, men's and women's gymnastics, men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's rifle, men's and women's skiing, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's tennis, men's volleyball, men's and women's water polo and men's wrestling.

Rosen and the Eagles are currently ranked second in Division III, and will face sixth-ranked Middlebury College in the NCAA Quarterfinals on Monday, May 18th.
