Taylor Cosme

Taylor went 6-0 in singles action over the weekend to capture the USTA/ITA South Regional Singles Championship. On her way to the title, she defeated four of the top-8 seeds (#1,4,5,6) in four straight matches. She only dropped 12 games through the first five rounds before the finals. In the championship, she battled teammate Bridget Harding in a tough three set match, winning in comeback fashion 4-6, 6-0, 6-3.

With the victory, she became the 14th consecutive Eagle to win the singles title and the 17th overall. Cosme is also just the fourth Emory freshman to win the Regional and the first since Satterfield in 2013.

In doubles, she reached the quarterfinals with partner Stephanie Loutsenko before falling to the top seeded team Michelle Satterfield/Anna Fuhr.
