Junior (2015-16):
Castro made an immediate impact with the Eagles in her first season after transferring from Division I Univ. of Alabama-Birmingham, finishing the season with a 17-2 record in singles and a 26-10 mark in doubles action. Castro closed out the year winning nine straight singles matches including a straight set victory at the no. 4 position in the National Championship match against Williams. In doubles play, Castro and teammate Michelle Satterfield posted the second-most wins on the team, going 16-9 overall at third doubles, winning nine of their last 10 matches and rattled off a perfect 5-0 record in NCAA Tournament matches. Castro was one of five Eagles to earn All-University Athletic Association First Team honors, earning the recognition at sixth singles and third doubles after helping Emory capture the UAA title. She added UAA Athlete of the Week honors once during the season following an undefeated week against Division I opponents and Division III Meredith.

Transferred from the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB)...Was a two year member for the Blazers tennis team...Compiled a singles record of 11-23 during her two seasons and was 15-16 in doubles competition...A highly touted player from Ecuador during her high school career... received as high as a No. 2 national ranking in 2012...had a career-best No. 338 international ranking by the International Tennis Federation and was ranked as high as No. 6 by the Confederacion Sudamericana De Tennis in the under-14 category...part of the Ecuadorian National Team, which consists of the top three players in the country.
