Harding/Su Reach Doubles Final; Cosme to play in 3rd Place Game

On day two of the USTA/ITA National Small College Championships, Katarina Su and Bridget Harding reached the championship match in the doubles competition while Taylor Cosme played in the singles semifinals, falling to the top seed.

Harding and Su took care of Mary Washington's Kait Brogan and Shelby Harris, the #2 seed in the bracket, by a score of 6-1, 6-2 in the semifinals to reach the championship match. They are first Eagles doubles team to reach the championship match at the ITA Small College Championships since Gabrielle Clark and Emma Taylor in 2012.

In the finals, Harding and Su squared off against the #4-seed from Wesleyan, Eudice Chong and Victoria Yu. However, the Emory pair saw their run come to an end as Chong/Yu were victorious 6-1, 6-0 to advance to Sunday's "Super Bowl" competition.

In the singles draw, Cosme faced Wesleyan's Chong in the semifinals. Chong handed Cosme just her second defeat of the fall season, defeating the New Hyde Park, NY native 6-1, 6-2. Cosme will now meet Chicago's Ariana Iranpour in Saturday's third-place game which will be played at 8:30am.
