The top-ranked Emory University women's tennis program looks to continue its stretch of dominance at the University Athletic Association Championships as the Eagles will be in search of their fourth straight Association title and the 27th in program history. The 2016 UAA Championships will get underway on Friday, April 22nd and run through Sunday, April 24th at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

Emory (20-4) will open the draw on Friday morning, taking on eighth-seeded the University of Rochester (6-8) at 9:00 AM. The winner of the opening round match will face either fourth-seeded and nationally- ranked no.-16 University of Chicago (9-4) or fifth-seeded and nationally ranked no.-20 Case Western Reserve University (12-4) on Saturday in the semifinals.

On the other side of the draw, the no.-9 team in the nation, Carnegie Mellon University (14-5), earns the no.2 seed and will play seventh-seeded and 30th-ranked Brandeis University (8-7). The winner will play the victors of the final quarterfinal matchup between third-seeded and 12th-ranked Washington University (13-7) and sixth-seeded and 29th-ranked New York University (8-2).

The semifinal matches will both be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday with the championship match to be played at 9:00 AM Sunday morning.

At last year's UAA Championships, Emory defeated NYU and Chicago both by 9-0 decisions to advance to the championship match. In the title match, the Eagles knocked off Carnegie Mellon 7-2 to claim their third straight conference championship and 26th overall.

Emory features six players on this year's team that earned All-UAA accolades at last year's championships. Sophomore Bridget Harding was named the UAA Rookie of the Year and was a no.5 singles First Team selection. Junior Michelle Satterfield (no.2 singles), junior Melissa Goodman (no.3 singles), junior Katarina Su (no.4 singles) and senior Madison Gordon (no.6 singles) all added First Team honors for Emory. Harding and Su, playing as Emory's no.2 doubles team, earned First Team All-UAA kudos as well.

Senior Beatrice Rosen was named to the UAA Second Team for no.1 singles as was Goodman who was named to the no.3 doubles Second Team with partner Rebecca Seigel.

Results and full match recaps will be posted to emoryathletics.com at the conclusion of each match.
