The Emory University Women's Tennis program continued play at the Elon Fall Invitational on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Elon University in Elon, NC.

Freshman Ysabel Gonzalez-Rico highlighted the Eagles in action on the afternoon as she advanced to the finals of the Maroon draw, the top flight of the tournament. Gonzalez-Rico rallied from one set down to knock off East Tennessee State's Ioanna Markensini 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-1 in the semifinals before besting UNC-Wilimington's Sabrina Barisano in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0, to reach the title match. She will be opposed by another member of UNCW, Madara Straume. The finals is set to get underway at 10am on Sunday.

Fellow freshman Defne Olcay advanced to the semifinals of the Gold draw with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Coastal Carolina's Jesse Mount before she was upended in the semis by Elon's Alex Koniaev in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2.

Other Eagles that registered victories in singles action on Saturday were senior Bridget Harding over UNC-Greensboro's Nancy Bridges in a back-and-forth match, 6-4, 1-6, 10-5; freshman Stephanie Taylor over UNC-Greensboro's Emily Ory, also in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 10-7; and newcomer Sasha Hartje against East Tennessee State's Jayde Viccars, 6-3, 6-1.

Gonzalez-Rico and Harding added Emory's lone doubles triumph on the afternoon, defeating Sevo and Zacharias of Appalachian State 8-2 in the consolation bracket of the Maroon draw.

Emory wraps up competition at the Elon Fall Invitational tomorrow with play getting underway at 9:00 am. Updated brackets and flights can be found here and will be updated throughout the day.
