Freshman Ysabel Gonzalez-Rico from the Emory Women's Tennis team was named the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for the third time this fall as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.
Gonzalez-Rico reached the ITA Oracle Cup Division III Singles and Doubles championship matches this past weekend at the ITA Oracle Cup in Rome, GA. She posted straight set wins in the quarter- and semi-finals before falling to Wesleyan's Eudice Chong in the singles title match. In doubles, Gonzalez-Rico and senior Bridget Harding registered a straight sets victory in the quarterfinals and a come-from-behind win in the semifinals before losing to Wesleyan's Chong and Yu in the doubles final.
The Eagles close out the fall season with the Wofford Invitational in Spartanburg, SC from October 27th – 29th.
