The No.-2 ranked Emory University Women's Tennis team advanced to the title match of the 2018 ITA National Division III Indoor Championships with a 6-3 victory over Carnegie Mellon University Saturday afternoon at the McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The win sets up a championship rematch as the Eagles will face Pomona-Pitzer College in the finals at 12:00 PM EST on Sunday. Last season, Emory pulled out the 5-4 victory over the Sagehens. It will be the Eagles' fifth overall appearance in the ITA National Indoor Championships title match, having won previous titles in 2010, 2011 and 2017. Pomona-Pitzer advanced to its third straight indoor finals with a 6-3 win over the University of Chicago.

The Eagles opened the match by earning victories at first and third doubles to take a 2-1 advantage. Senior Bridget Harding and Ysabel Gonzalez-Rico won their sixth straight match with an 8-3 decision on court one while junior Daniela Lopez and freshman Katie Chang posted their third consecutive win as a tandem, recording the 8-5 win on court one.

Harding, Gonzalez-Rico and Lopez led the way in singles action for the Eagles, registering straight set wins at the first three singles matches. Harding won 6-3, 6-4 at first singles, Gonzalez-Rico won 6-2, 6-4 at second singles and Lopez was 7-5, 6-0 winner at third singles. Sophomore Emma Perelman did not drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 at sixth singles to round out the Emory winners in singles play.
