The Emory University Women's Tennis doubles duo of senior Bridget Harding and freshman Ysabel Gonzalez-Rico saw their bid for a national championship come to an end Saturday afternoon at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center in Claremont, CA.
Harding and Gonzalez-Rico put forth a strong effort in the national semifinals but fell to Wesleyan's Eudice Chong and Victoria Yu 6-2, 7-6 (4). The defeat puts a cap on an excellent season for the Emory pair, posting a school-record 34 wins as they finished with a 34-7 record including a 20-2 mark as Emory's No. 1 tandem during the spring.
The loss also closes the book on a tremendous career for Harding, who finishes her doubles career as the program's all-time leader in wins with 113.
