Kantrovitz/Perez Conclude Play at ITA Cup

Sophomore Emily Kantrovitz and senior Ana Cristina Perez finished play at the ITA Cup after reaching the North draw championship match on Saturday afternoon in singles.

On Friday afternoon, Perez faced Sylwia Mikos of Chicago in the quarterfinals dropping her match with a 6-3, 6-4 decision. Kantrovitz squared off against Lindsay Eisenman of Claremont M-S taking a 7-5, 6-2 loss in the quarterfinals of the East draw.

The two moved to the semifinals North bracket on Saturday afternoon with Perez winning her match against Danna Taylor of Carnegie Mellon 7-5, 6-3. Kantrovitz won her semifinals match with a 6-2, 6-2 straight set decision against Trinity's Ruth Hill. With their wins, Kantrovitz and Perez advanced to the championship match and decided not to face each other in the final.

Late Friday night, the duo teamed up in doubles to take on Chicago's Shianna Guo and Mikos dropping their quarterfinals match 6-1, 7-6, ending their doubles run.

Women's tennis will face SCAD Atlanta in a dual match scrimmage on Saturday, October 28 at home beginning at 12 pm.
