Women’s Tennis Falls to #1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 5-4, on Sunday Afternoon

The Emory University women's tennis program fell 5-4 to the No. 1 ranked Claremont Mudd-Scripps on Sunday afternoon in Claremont, California.

The Eagles now sit 4-3 on the season and complete their first match on their California trip.

CMS took each doubles match to start the day earning three quick points heading into singles. 

Sophomore Emily Kantrovitz won her singles match on court one dropping the first set 6-3 before taking the next two sets 6-4 and 6-2 to secure her win. Sophomore Izzy Antanavicius earned another point for the Eagles with a 6-3, 7-5 win on court four. Fellow sophomore Iris Berman notched Emory's third point with a 6-1, 6-2 victory on the fifth court followed by a straight set 6-1, 6-1 decision from freshman Yanire Marte on court six earning the Eagles' fourth point of the match.

The Eagles will return to the courts on Monday, March 11 where they will face Pomona-Pitzer at 5:00 PM EST.
