2006-07 Women's Indoor Track & Field Season Recap

The Emory Women concluded a successful 2006-07 Indoor Track Season, finishing second at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Indoor Track and Field Championships.  The team registered two individual champions in conference events and four athletes finish with All-UAA honors in multiple events.

The third-place finish at the Association Championship marks the second-consecutive third-place finish for the Eagles, and the team's 15th-straight finish in the top-four teams at the annual event.

The Eagles were led throughout the season by a pair of seniors, Ashley DeMarco and Amy DiBianca.  Both earned NCAA Provisional Qualification marks, DeMarco in the high jump and DiBianca in the 5,000-meter run.  In addition, DeMarco became the UAA Champion in the 55-meter hurdles, while DiBianca claimed the Association's championship in the 5,000-meter run.

In the field events, junior Tracy Whittaker continued her success, recording three of the top-five heights in the pole vault during the season, and setting the school record in the triple jump at the UAA Championships.  Meanwhile, sophomore Jordan Beall took strides forward during her sophomore year, recording the second-best distance in Emory history in the long jump.
