Head coach of the Emory University track & field teams, John Curtin, was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) the South/Southeast Regional Women's Coach of the Year as announced by the organization late Tuesday afternoon.

It marks the fourth time Curtin has been named the USTFCCCA South/Southeast Regional Women's Coach of the Year for the outdoor track & field season. It also marks Curtin's fourth regional USTFCCCA Coach of the Year honor in the past calendar year as he was named both the Men's and Women's South/Southeast Cross Country Coach of the Year and during the indoor track & field season, he was honored as the South/Southeast Women's Coach of the Year.

Assistant Coach Lance Harden was also honored by the Association on Tuesday as he was awarded the South/Southeast Regional Men's Assistant Coach of the Year for the time in his tenure at Emory.

The USTFCCCA announced their All-Region selections for the outdoor season earlier this week as well with the Eagles combining for 29 All-Region selections; 22 women and seven men. The 22 All-Region honorees from the Emory women's team ranks as the third-most in the country.

Leading the Eagles was freshman Dilys Osei, who was named All-Region in four events: 100m and 400m Hurdles, the 4x100m Relay and the 4x400m Relay. Classmate Dani Bland was named All-Region in three events: 100m and 200m Dashes and the 4x100m Relay.

Sophomore Daniel Pietsch topped the men's team with two All-Region certificates in both the 200m and 400m Dashes.

Osei, Pietsch along with teammates Ariana Newhouse, Julia Leventhal, Erica Goldman, Julie Williamson and Lukas Mees will represent Emory University at the 2016 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships at Wartburg College in Waverly, IA from May 26th through May 28th.
