The Emory University Track and Field teams earned a combined 23 South/Southeast All-Region outdoor track and field selections as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday afternoon.
To be named All-Region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top-5 of an individual event in the region according to final TFRRS data or be part of a top-3 relay team. The organization first began recognizing All-Region award winners in 2016.
The Emory women, the top-ranked team in the South/Southeast region and ranked No.-8 nationally, garnered a regional-best 20 honors. NCAA-bound juniors Dani Bland and Dilys Osei paced the team with four All-Region honors each.
On the men's side, seniors Max Brown and Benjamin Rogin each earned All-Region acclaim in the 1500m Run and 110m Hurdles as well as junior Bennett Shaw in the 3000m Steeplechase.
Bland and Osei along with seniors Erica Goldman, Gabrielle Stravach, sophomore Kaitlyn Leonard and freshman Rebekah Bondi will represent the Eagles at this week's NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships. Action from La Crosse, WI begins Thursday afternoon.
